Client Connectics (Main Contractor to Orion)

Scope & Scale

HRS won this project (subcontractor package) on a traditional tender basis with Connectics who were the Main Contractor to Orion. The Lump Sum Contract involved works to allow for the installation of 66/11kV instruments, cabling and connections by Connectics.

HRS’s scope included;

  • Civil works (earthworks, fencing)
  • Drainage/Stormwater Systems (sewer, stormwater including rain water harvesting, Hynds EcoStop )
  • 66kV Switch-room building 14m x 30m comprising structural steel, tilt slab, concrete works, roofing, joinery, ventilation and adjoining 11kV Switch-room Control building 17m x 10m comprising steel structure, roofing, tilt stab, concrete work, internal framing/walls  
  • Cable tray/ladder installation
  • Client supplied transformer installed by HRS and assembled on foundation pads constructed by HRS
  • LS TX and Kiosk Foundations
  • Painting
  • Drive way formation

Performance

Significant interface and co-operation was required between HRS and Connectics. As required by the contract conditions, HRS had to accommodate for suitable delay in its programme to allow for cabling works to be completed.

Health and Safety. Nil incidents. High level of employee participation, task analysis generally but particularly around high risk tilt slab installation.

Programme. Achieved programme for access and termination of cables and scheduled livening of cable

Cost Management. Achieved project budgets, minimal variations experienced.

Quality – achieved critical set out and exacting specification requirements.
