Scope and Scale 

Purpose built 8,000m2 building to house seed product and carry out treating and mixing of seed for local and export markets. The building includes a large warehouse storage area, separate processing space and cool room for temperature-sensitive seed, office complex, large covered loading areas and expansive outside yard. Construction included post-tensioned floor slabs (both warehouse and yard areas), 15m high 50-tonne precast boundary wall panels, large in-ground pits (for seed mixing and coating), 15m high Speedwall including high-speed PIR operated doors, storm water recycling for toilets and irrigation and low-power use lights including lighting control to take best advantage of natural light. 

Performance 

The construction of this new premises proves that an open partnership with all parties, from developer , client, to end user guarantees a successful project. HRS was involved in the project from the outset providing input and build ability review, cost engineering, and programme advice as part of the design process. 

HRS worked co-operatively with PGG Wrightson regarding access, co-ordination and incorporation of processing plant and racking systems installed at completion of the building structure.
