Northwood Supacentre

Client AMP Property Portfolio Ltd | Date of Completion Under Construction | Duration 2012 on going | Value of Work $4.0 million

Scope and Scale

Continuity of services at each and every individual retail store is critical under the management of the large scale structural strengthening taking place at Northwood’s Supa Centre in Belfast.

In accordance with the Engineers Analysis on damage and strengthening requirements (for the whole mall), HRS apply the necessary bracing/ erection of steel members to open up the structure and determine extent of repair, painting and crack knitting/injecting for quality reinstatement of internal , party and external walls, roofs and floors.

Performance

HRS was awarded work on negotiated procurement.

The work is predominately carried out over night with the retail site being left in a clean and tidy “not to notice the work in the background” state for the next business day.

The allocation of a dedicated HRS manager and use of specific subcontractors over the whole of the programme works provides stability of services and quality. A large amount of trust is placed in HRS who work around fully merchandised stores - giving due respect to property and stock, protection of property and tenant security requirements.

Customer care and stakeholder management with retail tenants is critical. HRS provides flexibility in its programme to work around sales and promotional activities. In all cases the tenants’ business comes first.
